Segway i2 won't power on

Hey y'all. Popped by to see if I could get some troubleshooting advice. When I try to power on my i2, the info key runs through its normal starting procedure, but the only response I get from the power base is that the front most light (not battery light, but balance mode light) flashes red, once, that's it. No error codes on the key or anything. Any ideas? it was working fine up until about 2 minutes ago. It was in riderless balance mode and then just shut off. No safety shutdown or any prior warning, and I haven't been able to get it to respond since. Thoughts?

First thing I'd try is dropping the batteries for 10-15 min...then try again...

Those 5 LEDs have to do with the segway's balance, but there are all kinds of other inputs to them, all going thru the logic of the main boards...

I agree that the first step it to clear the batteries, and allow for a full shut down of all logic boards. Leave the batteries off long enough for the caps to drain, several minutes at least.

Just for the sake of it, when batteries are off, I usually swap them on re-install, to equalize the load...

Good luck. Keep us posted.

Don't forget to try powering it on while plugged in...
It's worth a shot, that is, if the previous suggestions don't work.

In speaking with my dealer, the symptoms would indicate an instantaneous failure of the B board... Hooray...

Sounds like a faulty battery(s) or dirty battery connector, it did not even go pass the first boot up stage and power had been interrupted.

Normally after blinks of all 4 red balance LED then it's the motor load test, when all test are passed with flying marks it will show it's ready (Center Green LED) or not (Red alert out of balance LED)
looks like it only flash the first balance LED and the power stopped supply.

Try disconnect the battery and reinstall it (good idea to swap front to rear) if it's the same fault then you should try another set of known working battery to see how it goes, it should fire up or at least give you the error code after all 4 LED blinks.

Ouch, and hope is still under warranty.

Still worthwhile to try the above tho.

Without error code, it's amazing that they know it's a faulty CU B.
Since there is no Err E01A or E10A on the comm range or E08E motor drive fault.

If it's out of warranty, You should try everything before send it in for repair, including a good inspection and cleaning of the battery connector under chassis or even replacement of new info key battery.

As visits to mothership would cost a bit.
